Troubleshooting Widget Issues (buttons, image loading, upload errors)
There are three main causes for widgets not loading quickly or not loading at all or being unable to upload.
Widgets Taking Too Long to Load
If you're clicking on a widget to share and it's taking an unusually long time to load and display to everyone, it's usually due to a heavy server load, especially if you're hosting a large event. This will typically resolve itself shortly, but it's definitely not great to happen and we want to know if it ever goes wrong. If it's not too much extra trouble, please write down the current time when the widgets aren't loading and send us a message about it to Support@Meetn.com.
A good way to prevent server overload from happening is if you're expecting a large attendance, reach out to us on the support line in advance, and we'll be able to reserve and dedicate more servers for you before the event begins, to make sure your event doesn't have any hitches.
Media Files Not Uploading
If your media file are not uploading, the usual cases are that the format is unsupported, there are strange errors in the file, or it is simply too large.
These issues can be easily fixed with the appropriate editor program and re-exporting the media in our recommended formats using the default settings to ensure compatibility. Those formats are .PNG for images, .MP3 for audio, and .MP4 for videos. You can follow the steps below for editing and exporting your files.
Media Files Not Playing
If a media file is absolutely refusing to play, like say an MP4 video file just never displays anything and never starts, even though it uploaded correctly, this issue is usually caused by small errors in the file itself. Fortunately these errors are usually very easy to fix!
To fix the file, you just need to load it in an editor program and re-export the file using the default settings.
For Videos
Open the video file in a video editor program like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or Olive Video Editor. You won't need to make any changes to video, simply put the original file in the timeline and then export it as a default MP4 file. Then re-upload the new video file to Meetn.
For Audio
Open the audio file in a sound editor program like Audacity (it's one of the best program for audio and it's free!). Just like with videos, go to export the media and use the default settings for the MP3 format. Then re-upload the new audio file to Meetn.
For Images
Open the image file in an image editor program. Pretty much any will work, even MS Paint. Load up the image and export it or do 'save as' and save it as a PNG file. Then re-upload the new image file to Meetn.
If Above Steps Fail
Don't worry! Our support team can help you and our developers would be interested to see why the files aren't working. If you don't mind sharing the media files with us, please attach them to an email and send a message to Support@Meetn.com and we'll help you get the files uploaded to your widgets and figure out why it's not working.
