Screen Sharing Troubleshooting (visibility, quality, browser settings)
⚠ Before sharing your screen, always make sure that sensitive materials are CLOSED, not minimized, to prevent accidental exposure.
Meetn LLC is not responsible for any sensitive data leaked through user action.
MacOS Users
Mac users will need to make sure that screen sharing is allowed for your browser. Click the Apple icon at the top left of your screen and go to System Settings / System Preferences. The go to Security & Privacy and find Screen Sharing or Screen Recording. Make sure your browser is enabled to use screen sharing.
⚠ Note: Screen sharing is not available on all versions of Safari. Safari featured on MacOS Sequoia 15 and later is know to support screen sharing, but earlier versions may not.
Sharing the Wrong Content
Most browsers give you the option of what you want to share. You'll usually be presented with the choices of:
- Specific browser tab
- Specific application window
- The entire screen
If you are sharing a presentation like from the PowerPoint or Keynote programs, going full screen makes a brand new application window. So for this use case, we recommend sharing the entire screen, so as not to miss anything.
Low Framerate / Quality
Screen sharing can be very demanding on your device if you're using a mobile device or a low spec computer. If your screen sharing performance is consistently bad, it may not be fixable without upgrading your device. Feel free to reach out to Support@Meetn.com if you're having trouble and we'll be happy to work with you on it!
